Posted by MoiN 9 July, 2008

Google just launched “Google Lively which is a free, browser-based virtual environment with tight integration to social networks like MySpace, Facebook and OpenSocial, as well as Google gadgets like Picassa and YouTube. You can create an avatar and chat with your friends in rooms you design with Google Lively.

Google Lively helps users’ friends lists, feeds, and logins to tie directly to the social network and it runs in your browser, differentiating it from client-centric worlds like Second Life and can be embedded in a Web site.

Google Lively Features:

Create your own virtual space : Chat and interact with your friends in rooms you design
Express yourself: Customize your avatar and stream personal photos and video
Add your room to your site: Invite your friends to chat and help decorate

@xavier 2kx: Lively is a Google Labs project, which means that they are still testing it and seeking feedback. They do have plans to support other platforms like google lively for mac in the future, but for now you’ll need a Windows system to access Lively.
