How cool is this, Microsoft is giving away Visual Studio 2008 Pro, Windows Server 2003, Expression Studio, and XNA Game studio 2.0 to students for free. Yes, these Professional Developer and Designer tools are being given away to students at no charge at all.

Right now, studnets from these 11 countries/regions are given access to download these micosoft products for free. They include, students from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Germany, France, Finland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Belgium. If you are not residing in one of the countries listed keep checking back, they will be adding more countries throughout the year.

So how do you get this free Microsoft package? (Assuming you’re a student and reside in the above mentioned countries)

- Sign In with your Windows Live ID.

- Get verified as a student. The system is linked to schools and organizations around the world that can confirm student status. Simply choose your country and school, enter your info and hit submit.

- Download your products. Due to size of this tool, the files are quite large so make sure you have the bandwidth and enough space to bring them to your machine. Latest versions of both Internet Explorer and Firefox are supported for your download.
