13 Best Tools For Traffic Analyzing and Monitoring your website
Monitoring a website is very important for any one who runs a website or a blog, Page ranks, incoming links etc which now plays a major part in all of this. New Tools are coming out every now and then, existing ones are getting better and better, competition is at it’s peak and everyone wants to be on the top. I have gathered some great tools that can give you an edge, learn more about any website and help you in the improvement sector.
Dataopedia is a new web service (Similar to Quarkbase) that helps you finds almost anything about a website including Alexa ranking, websites traffic, popularity, administrator’s contact, DNS information and a lot more.

Quarkbase is a free popular service which lets you find complete information about a website by mashing up over 30 data sources including social media websites like Digg, Reddit, Stumble Upon, Delicious etc.

Quantcast brings in more complexity than most of the websites. The statistics shows detailed demographics, Estimated traffic/frequency, related sites and much more.

Alexa is one of the oldest and popular web service which provides traffic rankings for websites, an estimated percent of users visiting the website including the countries they are from etc. Alexa also provides a great and unique tool called “The Wayback Machine” which lets you see how (specified) websites used to look in the past.

If you want to track your rivals and eat their lunch (don’t) then check out Compete. It lets you compare traffic statistics of different website and gives you the ability to compare them. But if you are looking to access compete fully, you need to get the Pro version.

Google Analytics is the most popular and most used service out there. It features, Custom Reports, Advanced Segmentation, Motion Charts, Fast Implementation, Keyword and Campaign Comparison, Custom Dashboards, Adwords Integration, Internal Site Search, Benchmarking, Trend and Date Slider, Ecommerce Tracking, Funnel Visualization, Site Overlay, Email Reports, Geo Targeting and more. Find out more information of Google Analytic’s features here.

Site Meter’s is another web based service that provides you with detailed real time tracking and counter tools. You can easily found out who is visiting your site, how they found you, where they came from, what interests them and much more.

Technorati does not need any introduction, it’s been for a while and it’s the one of the leading blog search engine. Mid 2008, (Report), Technorati indexed over 112.8 million blogs and over 250 million pieces of tagged social media. You can see ranks and popularity of millions of blogs with it and much more.

dnScoop in a web-based service for websites/blogs, providing you with Domain Age, Page Rank, Inbound Links, Traffic Rank (Alexa), Link Report, History, Stat Tools and it’s value. To be honest, I don’t believe in these “Domain Values aka How much is your website worth” thing, I think it judges all these statistics by the traffic coming in and a website (a months old) can be worth $1000 in most of the cases.

CubeStat is a tool for website value calculation, estimations and information. It provides you with a estimated worth of a website/blog, shows ranks from Alexa, Google, Quantcast and compete, site age, indexed pages, etc.

ExactFactor is a nifty service which lets you check out where your website/blog stands in search engines for a specific keyword. You can enter up to 3 keywords at the same time and can check where they stand in Google, Yahoo and Live. If you register for a free account with them, you can also recieve weekly reports and alerts to track your website position, advanced tools and analysis and emails when your position for your defined keywords is up/down.

Yahoo Site Explorer is a service provided by Yahoo.com which lets you explore all the web pages indexed by Yahoo. It gives you a good report on the pages, incoming links and much more.

I did had a chance to see more tools but most of them weren’t worth it. They were doing the same thing but with flaws. If you think I’ve missed anything important, do mention it.
Very well written post however, I would recommend that you turn the No Follow off in your comment section.
Keep up the good work.
great post.. thanks
I use http://www.estimix.com to calculate how much traffic a
website has. It seems to provide much better traffic information and competitive analysis for free.
I’m using this service to monitor my website’s rank – http://monitor.mazecore.com . They provide position and uptime monitoring with alerts, but rank monitoring on free account is enough for me. I recommend this service with free tariff
