I recently had a chance to install Ubuntu on my home PC and since I’m a fan of good themes and love to customize my desktop, I started searching for the best Ubuntu / Gnome Themes. I downloaded loads of them, bookmarked and saved the pages for further use. I confronted Dark, colored, light each with a different perspective. So after a good long list, here’s what I found and think are one of the best Ubuntu / Gnome themes.

extract the content of the compressed files to /home/username/.themes and you’ll get them installed.

Why are these “Ubuntu themes”? They could be used on any version of Linux running Gnome! Not everyone uses Ubuntu!

I’ve checked a lot of these out. Very good work. Especially the dark ones (I love dark themes) the only problem I keep running into is the darker themes change the colors on a lot of form fields. On some sites I can’t even see what I’m typing.
