There are a bunch of new shortcut keys added in windows 7. And if you are not planning to install Windows 7 beta and wait for the final version to come out, you can still use some of Windows 7 shortcuts in windows XP or Windows Vista.

A Small utility called “Windows 7 Shortcuts” is written by Rupert in AutoHotKey and after installing, you can use the following windows 7 shortcuts:

  • Win+Left/Right arrows: Dock the window to each side of the monitor
  • Win+Up arrow: Maximize the active window
  • Win+Down arrow: Minimize the window/Restore the window if it’s maximized
  • Win+Space: All windows are made transparent so you can see the desktop
  • Win+Home: Minimize all windows but the current window
