Split And Merge Large Files For Easy Sharing
There are times when you need to transfer a huge file but cannot due to various reasons like less disk space or limits on website that let you upload to a certain limit. Here’s a great utility that lets you split large files into small bits and gives you the ability to merge them back in no time. It’s called “HjSplit” – a freeware software (portable), only on 343 KB. The interface is quiet simple and can be operated by any computer user. Still let me show you how to do it.

As you can see the screenshot above, there are couple of options which you should be using only. Click on Split and it will take you a new window where you can see more options. 1 is Input File and the other is Output along-with a option of Split file size. Split File size lets you split a large file into a specified size, in Kilo Bytes.
After you’re done splitting the file, just upload or share it. though, the user whose downloading or using the file needs to have Hjsplit as well (which I don’t think would be a problem). After downloading the pieces (to a specific folder, of course), run Hjsplit and click on Join. Here’s the thing, If you’ve split a file, the output would be a set of files with .001, .002 etc. To merge them, choose the .001 file using the Input file option and the rest will automatically be added.
I hope this helps you in splitting and merging large files and makes sharing easy.
