Following Websites Visually
Some of you must have some websites which you visit only to see the images on it. For instance, you might have bookmarked a number of websites which all host different images of football stadiums in the world. And these stadium images are updated on an irregular basis. Checking all those websites just to see if new images have been uploaded can become quite time-consuming.
However, with Spectives, you can keep tabs on your websites by checking the latest images being hosted on them.
In the above example of football stadiums, Spectives will extract the images from your respective websites, filter them and present them to you. The images gathered can be made into a collection and this collection is automatically updated whenever new images are added by your websites.

On Spectives’ homepage you can view other people’s collections which range over a variety of subjects including (but definitely not restricted to) gadgets, nature, bags, nature, fashion, movies, and cars.
Before proceeding to use to Spectives, a user should check out the collections Spectives users have made; in them are included some great pictures all worthy of a look-see.
Once you have had a taste of others’ collections, you can proceed to build your own. Here is how the top of the Spectives homepage looks like:

To get started with making our collections, we first need to sign up for an account; click on the ‘signup’ link at the top-right of the webpage. After clicking the ‘Submit’ button, you instantly receive the activation email in your inbox.
You click on the activation link in the email you receive and you are taken to the homepage of Spectives, only this time, you are logged in. Proceed to click on the red ‘Make a Collection’ link at the top-right of the webpage. Before you can start adding websites to your collection, you need to decide what the URL should be. Clicking on the ‘Make a Collection’ takes you to a page where you see this:

I typed in ‘samplingspectives’ and was accordingly taken to http://www.spectives.com/samplingspectives.

Like the link says, ‘You can start adding feeds now.’ Click there.
You are now asked to enter add a feed or a website address which you want to add to your collection. To do this, you simply type in the name of a website and click the ‘add’ button. Alternatively, you can choose from a number of feeds which are located below the text bar provided to you for entering fields:

And that is all there is to it!
By simply entering your websites, you can enter your collection and view the current images on the websites’ homepages. Apart from being able to have great fun by sharing your collection with the world, you can check the main updates on the added websites merely by visiting your own collection.
