— likewise, you can use random skins for it.

Google Chrome Tips and Tricks
Google Chrome again!
- I was browsing and saw some great tips on TechRader on Google Chrome by Paul Douglas. Something that you should bookmark maybe. We’re already covering a post on Google Chrome Bugs and Updates so this is a nice addition.

30 Google Chrome tips & tricks:-
1. Create desktop and Start menu shortcuts to web apps such as Gmail - go to Gmail.com and then select Create application shortcuts… from the Page Control menu (in the top-right corner of your browser - it looks like a page with the corner folded over). Now choose where you want to place your shortcut. This works for other Google apps such as Calendar and Documents, and other services such as Windows Live Hotmail.
2. Control + Shift + N opens an ‘incognito’ window - sites you view in this window won’t appear in your history and cookies served by sites in this window will be deleted when the window is closed.
3. You can open a link in an incognito window by right-clicking the link and selecting Open link in incognito window.
4. Alt + Home loads your Google Chrome home page, with thumbnails of your most visited sites shown in the active tabbed window.
5. Control + T opens a new tab. You can drag tabs around to change their order or drag a tab out of the window into its own window.
6. Control + Shift + T opens your most recently closed tab. Press the key combination again to open the tab closed before that one. Google Chrome remembers the last 10 tabs you’ve closed.
7. Jump to different open tabs using Control + 1, Control + 2, Control + 3, etc. Control + 9 takes you to the last tab.
8. Control + Tab lets you cycle through your open tabs in order.
9. Control + Shift + Tab cycles through your tabs in the opposite order.
10. As with Firefox 3, you can drag a link onto a tab to open it in that tab, or drop it between two tabs to open a new tab in that position.

5 Best Firewall Applications
We have been surrounded by Malware attacks, spyware and whatnot. These situations call for a good Firewall application to protect your computers. The next step is choosing which Firewall application is best for you. I suggest experimenting by installing one after another until you discover one which meets your needs. I have complied a list of the 5 best firewall applications of 2008. All listed preformed the job well and are highly recommended.
1- Comodo Firewall

Comodo is a top rated software that specializes in protecting from malicious applications like Viruses, Spyware, Trojans, Rootkits etc. The latest version gives you complete protection from Hackers, Spyware, Trojans, and Identity Theft while the Host Intrusion Prevention System stops malware from being installed and Clean PC Mode registers your current applications. This will allow only applications that you approve to be installed on your computer.
The Malware Scan Feature checks your computer for viruses, spyware and trojans before you install Comodo Firewall Pro. Best thing about Comodo is that it is free of cost.

Yahoo mash is shutting down
Yahoo Mash is shutting down as most of us already know and the service will officially be shut down on September 29th, 2008. It was an experimental social network by Yahoo! created on grounds of competition with MySpace, Facebook and Orkut but its conflict with Yahoo! 360 and lack of support and updates might have proved a little too unhealthy.
In regards to that, I’m also shutting down the Yahoo Mash Beta Invites that I used to send because it’s not use anymore. Everyone who made their profiles earlier, please save your important stuff.
Google Picasa 3 Beta Download
Google has also released the first beta of Picasa 3 after their newest browser, Google Chrome. Picasa 3 now has the ability to support more photos on your computer (up to a million photos) and there are plenty of other nice improvements.

Experiment with six different collage types and a slew of new settings in the more hands-on collage creation screen.
Sharing:
Why take two steps when you can do it in one? Upload an album to Picasa Web Albums and email invitations to friends and family with just one click.
Auto red-eye:
Our improved technology automatically detects faces and corrects the red eye in your photos. While editing any photo, you can access the Redeye button redeye from the Basic Fixes tab. After the red eye is identified and auto-corrected, click Apply to accept the changes.
Cropping:
The Crop tool offers three crop suggestions based on the composition of your photograph. Don’t miss the 10 different dimensions to choose from when cropping. You can access the Crop button from the ‘Basic Fixes’ tab. Select your chosen dimension. Click the Preview button to get a sneak peek before you apply the changes.

Google Chrome Updates, Bugs, Issues and Stuff I realized

Google Chrome, the newest browser by google has been launched (as most of you guys know). It’s looking good, no doubt but It’s still not fully functional with all those bugs and issues that even the developers know.
First of all, some of the Known Issues that users have already submitted
- Spreadsheets - When you click in one cell, it sometimes focuses on another cell above it.
- Docs - Comments don’t work as expected
- Calendar - The day is scrolled up to midnight after you edit an event
- Calendar - If you create an all day event between Friday and Sunday, the event will be one day longer than intended.
- Docs - ‘Also editing now’ message redraws multiple times when you scroll
- The English (US) dictionary is installed by default for all languages
- ‘Find in page’ sometimes fails to find entries on very long pages and in editable text areas
- Sometimes your laptop won’t go to sleep when Google Chrome is running
- Error responses from some proxies are truncated
- Google Chrome doesn’t honor the ‘bypass proxies for these addresses’ list in the Windows’ Internet Options control panel
- Performing searches take a long time, and I see “Resolving proxy…” in the lower-left of the window
- When you open an RSS feed or xml file, it only shows the raw XML data
I downloaded Google chrome, opened couple of sites and then went to check google adsense, to my surprise I confronted this and upon some investigation I found out that Google Chrome does not support SSL client authentication.

So google adsense is a potentially harmful version of google? and according to Chrome, we should proceed with it! wow! Anyway, some stuff that should be given a small thought.
Rumor is, Google Removed all the referrals elements from Adsense last month and their main referral was Mozilla FireFox! and now suddenly, we are looking at Google Chrome? This comes to a question, is this going to affect Google’s relationship with firefox? Are they still going to fund Mozilla?
Answer is, no! This won’t affect google’s relationship with firefox that much. Why? because Last week, Google renewed a royalty deal with Mozilla, which will run through November 2011, providing the open-source organization with a new three-year lifeline. According to a amazing article by TGDaily
“Funding Mozilla remains the cheapest strategy for Google to control the Internet Explorer’s influence and market share, however, a Google web browser adds a variable to that equation that may change the outcome of the Mozilla relationship when the agreement expires in three years, especially if Chrome can capture market share quickly.
Google isn’t Mozilla’s only income source, but there is no denying that Mozilla would not be what it is today and Firefox would not look like as it does today. According to Mozilla’s most recently published tax statements (fiscal year 2006 ended December 31, 2006) reveals that Mozilla had sales of $67 million at the time, $57 million of which came from Google, because of Firefox’ use of Google as default home page and revenues from ad placements.
For now, it is business as usual and we are sure that Mozilla and market watchers will have a close eye on how Google will be leveraging its countless business relationships to push its Chrome browser. Besides the fact that it has a search market share of more than 60% in the U.S., its software is included by default on many new PCs, it has partnerships with industry giants such as MySpace and Ebay, it owns YouTube, it works on integration its software in gas station pumps there is a mobile search deal with Verizon in the works and the company is apparently interested in acquiring Digg.”

Hologram Application on iPhone looks amazing
The application works by assuming a constant viewing angle (35-45 degrees), typical for when the device is placed on a tabletop. The 3d scene’s perspective is then warped using anamorphic perspective, making the object appear to jump off the screen.
