YouTube

Turkey once again, banned YouTube because of too much negative/bad words usage against their country’s founding father “Mustafa Kemal Ataturk”.

Anyone from Turkey, trying to access youtube gets a message in English and Turkish that it has been banned under a 17 January Ankara court order. This has happened in the past when Mustafa Kemal was insulted earlier.

Counter Strike

As far as I remember, this was done before too in Brazil? Anyway, no more counterstrike or everquest says Brazilian authorities from January 17th. The order comes into effect following an October 2007 Brazilian federal court decision, which ruled the games encourage “the subversion of public order” and are an “attack against the democratic state.”

According to the AFP, officials have fingered Counter-Strike, a once-popular first person shooter (released way back in 1999) because they claim it includes a contentious level set in Rio de Janeiro’s slum quarters. Players can choose to play either on the side of a gang which has kidnapped three UN representatives, or the police officers storming their compound. Feds contend the game teaches “war strategy” to its audience

Counterstrike was already a 18+ game and EQ was never officially sold there!
