Facebook Users, BEWARE!

Posted by MoiN 1 May, 2008 (0) Comment

The BBC’s technology programme Click has exposed a major security flaw in the social networking site Facebook which could easily steal your’s and your friend’s privacy.

According to BBC

“Using a simple malicious application could open up yourself and your friends (who do not need to install the application) to ID fraud. The BBC has compiled a video to demonstrate the flaw and if you are an avid Facebook user I suggest you watch it and take note. It’s not clear whether the techniques described by the BBC are currently in use on Facebook but if one of your friends only has to add the application and this opens your Facebook profile up this is a serious flaw.”

Time to earn with facebook

facebook

As (almost) everyone knows Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.

That’s that! but now a new application (being introducted) is aiming all the facebook members to earn money by helping advertisers and merchants to sell their products to their friends. So now it’s time for facebook members to socialize more and more?

This facebook program is called Market Lodge. It revolves around the notion that consumers are more likely to buy merchandise or services recommended by someone they know and trust so there’s nothing like facebook or myspace.

“Market Lodge, made by a startup called bSocial Networks Inc., will pay Facebook members a 10 percent commission on all sales made on their recommendations.”

10% is a good commission money in my opinion! Good thing is that facebook members who decide to use Market Lodge can customize their own stores, selecting from more than 1,200 products sold by about 50 different merchants.
