Caller ID For Skype Activated

Skype is a great application that’s not only a great IM but it also lets you make PC to PC calls from your PC to a telephone. Usually, if you’re in US and you call someone up through Skype it doesn’t show up your number on their CID (Caller ID), normally the recipient of the call would see a non-identifying “0000123456″ or something similar.

But now, Skype has modified it’s services and Skype users in North America can select either their SkypeIn (Online) number or mobile phone number as their CLI or CallerID to be sent with their SkypeOut calls.

To activate the feature, you need to login your account through the Skype web site, and select Caller ID from the Account menu.

Skype Launched for PSP

Skype - PSP

I’ve been using Skype for like almost 2 years now.. It is, no doubt, a great software with good history backup, conferences solution and of course, the Skype calls.

Skype just released their system software update for Sony PSP Slim & Lite and now all those PSP users who wanted to make calls and stuff.. it’s TIME! You will need to upgrade your PSP system software to Version 3.90 and you’re good to go.

With the update, foreshadowed in Sony’s PlayStation blog and now also announced by the Sony folks in Europe, PSP Slim & Lite users can make free voice calls to 276m other registered Skype users, see which friends are online and available to talk.

Also, if you have a bit of Skype credit lying around, you can use your PSP to make cheap SkypeOut calls to landlines and mobiles anywhere on the home planet. Good news, is’nt it :)
